Gates of Olympus Explained: Pay-Anywhere Wins, Tumbles and Multipliers
Updated

Three things to understand
- A win needs eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the six reels; they do not need to be adjacent.
- Tumbles remove winning symbols and drop new ones in, which can produce several wins from one spin.
- Feature options change the cost, so check the price before using them.
Gates of Olympus does not use fixed paylines, and many first-time players expect it to. This guide explains the pay-anywhere system, how tumbles chain wins, what multipliers and scatters do, and what to read before using ante or feature-purchase options.
How does pay-anywhere work?
The game is played on six reels, and a winning combination is eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen. The symbols do not need to be next to each other or follow any line.
More matching symbols generally pay more, and the exact values are in the paytable. This is why the paylines you know from other slots do not apply here.
What is a tumble?
After a win, the winning symbols are removed and new symbols fall into the empty spaces. If the new arrangement creates another qualifying combination, it is paid as well, and the sequence continues until no more wins appear.
A single paid spin can therefore contain several wins, or none. The tumble describes the sequence of one spin and not a pattern for the next.
What do multipliers and scatters do?
Multiplier symbols appear during the tumble sequence and are applied to qualifying wins according to the rules. Scatter symbols are tied to the bonus feature rather than being ordinary paying symbols.
Because versions and branded variants can differ, confirm the scatter count and feature details in the help screen of the exact game you open.
Why does the exact title matter?
i8 Live has presented the game as Zeus of i8 Live: Gates of Olympus, and there are related titles such as 1000 and Super Scatter versions. They are separate games, with their own features and information.
Check the full name before applying a guide or reading a displayed RTP. A figure from one version does not apply to another.
What should you check before pressing spin?
Find the total stake, the spin button, autoplay and any ante or feature-purchase option. A feature purchase can cost many times a standard spin, and autoplay repeats paid spins quickly.
Read the cost of each option separately, and do not infer it from an animation.
Does a long tumble mean something is due?
No. A big sequence or an early multiplier describes a completed spin. It does not suggest that another feature is about to arrive.
Practice mode, where available, can help with the interface. Keep fixed time and amount limits, because dramatic wins can encourage longer sessions.
A simple example of a tumble sequence
Suppose a spin lands nine matching symbols. They pay according to the paytable and are removed. New symbols drop in, and six more of a different kind happen to land, which is not enough for a win. The sequence ends, and the spin pays only the first win.
If instead eight symbols of another kind landed, a second win would be paid and the process would repeat. One paid spin can thus include several wins, which is why the displayed total can differ from the first win alone.
Questions worth asking
Do symbols have to touch to win?
No. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen can form a win.
Is the game's RTP fixed?
A given version has a configured RTP, but it can differ between operators and versions. Check the information panel in the game.
Is buying the bonus a better value?
It costs more, and the value depends on the rules. Read the stated cost and conditions before choosing it.
